Last weekend Mike was packing his things to go back home. I decided to help him take some things to his car, so I opened the door and tried to squeeze through with too many bags. Wallace had been waiting all weekend for an opportunity like this, and took his chance to get out in the world and explore while I was stuck in the doorway. Mike and I darted after him, but he was too quick. He did a lap around the yard, crossed the street, explored the neighbor’s yards, chased some squirrels, and darted whatever direction we didn’t. He seemed to smile as we frantically ran around screaming his name. After 15 minutes of this ridiculous chase he stopped to check out the trash, I snuck up behind him and his moments of freedom were over (and my heart rate began to slow back to normal).
Carrying too many bags
stuck in the door.
Wallace sees his opportunity
and takes off running.
We frantically chase him.
He appears to laughs at us.
But all the fun ends
when he stops to smell the trash
and back on the leash he goes.

Ohhh…I like the way the words have become part of your picture
Really neat effect…but my favorite is about the great escape! This photo looks like you caught him in action…ha! Will you remind me to share a book with you:
